Originally from South London, Benjamin Ward relocated to North Beverly with his wife, where they are restoring their own 1930s home. A storybook Tudor drenched in original woodwork needing some love.

Ben began woodworking over 15 years ago, working across residential construction, bespoke joinery, cabinetmaking, flooring, and fitted furniture. Prior to relocating to Chicago, he spent four years at Studio Manolo in London, working on high-end residential and commercial projects, from kitchens and staircases to fitted storage, shelving and architectural cladding. Some of the projects he's worked on have been featured in ELLE magazine.

Ben is a qualified City & Guilds Site Carpentry, a member of The Institute of Carpenters, and is a qualified journeyman carpenter in Chicago. Prior to opening Chicago Woodworks, he worked as a journeyman cabinet maker in Chicago producing bespoke architectural millwork, cabinetry and furniture in a high-end production workshop before deciding to pursue his own company.

Whether restoring an original window, recreating a historic detail or designing a piece of fitted furniture from scratch, Ben cares about making things properly, using good materials and creating work that you’re proud to have in your home.
